I’ve been having mixed feeling about the change of seasons. It’s always hard to say goodbye to summer, but I feel like this summer especially. Here’s why.
This summer was amazing. There were so many good memories made and adventures shared with friends and I don’t want to say goodbye. Pretty soon every one will be back to school or working so there’ll be less time for fun and a whole lot less sunshine!
But it’s not only a change of seasons from summer to fall but a change of season in my life.
This fall is the first time I will not be returning to school. I graduated from high school earlier this year and will be taking a gap year to save money for travel, education, and investing into a future business. This is completely new to me and I’m embarking on a new adventure of unknowns. What job will I get? What career will I choose to pursue? Will I be able to make enough income to support myself? So many unanswered questions.
I’m nervous yet excited to journey into the unknown. I don’t know what the future holds but I know God is sovereign and He’ll work it all out.
But nevertheless, there are so many things to look forward to this fall like those beautiful autumn days, trips to the pumpkin patch, cozy sweaters, my birthday, pumpkin pie & pumpkin spice lattes, halloween, and my new blog! I’m super excited to launch it once I have everything in order. For now, anticipate an October launch!
Got back from vacation and now I’m just enjoying the slowing down of summer. Soaking in sunshine, listening to tunes, and planning for the fall is what’s been occupying my days of late. Note: This Take 5 is a little late posting – I wrote it up a while ago so some of this stuff is kinda old but whatever 😛
1. Lindsey Stirling released her new album Brave Enough!!! My favourites are “Lost Girls” and “First Light” if you’re wondering 🙂
I have been loving Instagram’s new Story feature and have been using it every time I’m doing something interesting to document. 🙂
Earlier this week I went on an overnight getaway with my family to Leavenworth, a charming Bavarian-themed town in the middle of Washington. I snapped some photos on my Olympus PEN but mostly documented the trip using Instagram Stories. It was so easy to snap or film, throw on a filter, save, and post so my friends could share in my experiences. Since an Instagram story only sticks around for 24 hours, I’m posting the photos from my story here!
And since my free WordPress plan doesn’t support video (seriously CANNOT wait to switch to Squarespace when I launch my new blog!) I complied all my footage into a Vimeo video to embed into the post here. 🙂
